AOPA Unveils New, Improved Online Newsroomtitle
FREDERICK, Md., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- A new tool for the new year. The
Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) has launched a new and improved
online newsroom. The user-friendly site offers journalists general aviation
(GA) information at a glance. The address is http://www.aopa.org/newsroom.
(Because of the complete redesign, anyone who had registered for the old
newsroom will need to re-register. Access to members-only content is
unaffected by re-registration.)
AOPA recognizes that many reporters assigned to cover a story about small
planes are scrambling to learn as much as possible even as they head out to
cover the story. So the new AOPA Online Newsroom provides the answers to
questions that reporters most frequently ask. There is a quick reference "On
Deadline" section that includes basic information for covering accidents and
security issues as well as a direct link to the FAA aircraft registry, and
information on AOPAs new television studio and uplink facility.
A "Quick Facts" section includes aviation statistics, background
information including an overview of general aviation, airport information,
useful links, and information on third party aviation experts who can help
explain a story.
AOPA knows that reporters need unbiased information. Thats why the new
site clearly isolates AOPA news releases and position papers from the
statistics and background information you need. You can still find the
opinions and positions of the worlds largest civil aviation organization, but
can easily distinguish between fact and opinion.
AOPA has more than 407,000 members, roughly two-thirds of the U.S. pilot
population. The Association represents the interests of general aviation, and
is dedicated to telling the GA story correctly by providing useful, factual
information to the news media.
