GOL Launches Flights to Montevideo, Uruguaytitle
SAO PAULO, Brazil, Jan. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GOL Linhas Aereas
Inteligentes (NYSE: GOL) (Bovespa: GOLL4), Brazils low-cost, low-fare
airline, began today operating flights to Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay.
The Company will offer daily flights departing from Guarulhos airport in Sao
Paulo at 9:00 PM, with a stop in Porto Alegre (RS). Returning flights --
Montevideo to Sao Paulo -- will depart Montevideo at 6:15 AM, arriving in
Guarulhos at 9:30 AM.
Uruguay has a population of 3.4 million and 2004 GDP of US$ 49 billion.
One of the largest sectors of its economy is the agricultural industry, which
exports a majority of its crops. The Uruguayan capital, Montevideo, is home to
approximately 40% of the countrys population.
