Crystal Mountain Will Open For Skiing Thanksgiving Daytitle

THOMPSONVILLE, Mich., Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Due to the close to two feet of snow that Mother Nature has dumped on Crystal Mountain since Wednesday, and the fact that Crystals snowguns have been operating at full bore since Wednesday night, Crystal Mountain will open for skiing and snowboarding on Thanksgiving Day. Michigans Crystal Mountain will open for the 2005-2006 season on Thursday, November 24, 2005, with at least eight slopes and four lifts in operation. Lifts will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, November 24 through Sunday, November 27, and then close midweek for snowmaking. In addition, Crystal will open up 4K of our cross-country trails. "A Thanksgiving Day opening is always the target for most ski areas, however realistically it has happened about 50 percent of the time in the last ten years," said Joan ONeill, the resorts communications manager. "Thats what makes this year all the more exciting. The recent lake-effect snow that has fallen at Crystal Mountain has provided the jump start that the season needed -- needless to say, theres a severe bounce in our step." For the most up-to-date information and rates, interested parties may go to http://crystalmountain.com . SKI Magazine rated Crystal the #1 Resort in the Midwest in the magazines 2005 Resort Survey. Crystal Mountain is a family-owned, year-round resort featuring 45 downhill slopes, 40+ km of cross-country trails, 36 holes of championship golf, lodging, dining and IACC-approved conference facilities for groups of up to 400 people. Crystal is also home to the Michigan Legacy Art Park, a non-profit 30-acre outdoor park that blends art with nature.
